Jenny has worked in music education since 1998, with a wealth of experience as a cross-phase classroom music practitioner, workshop leader, instrumental teacher and project manager.

Between 2003-2017 she worked as head of music in two school settings, latterly managing a large music department and team of teachers in an outstanding secondary school with Artsmark Platinum status. She has also worked as a professional musician, piano accompanist and examiner for GCSE and A Level music.

With expertise in leading successful secondary music departments, cross-phase curriculum design, assessment and strengthening transitions between key stages, Jenny also has significant experience in supporting early-career teachers, providing supportive networking opportunities for colleagues and designing programmes of CPD for music teachers based on need and in response to national initiatives.

She works closely with other regional music hubs with a focus on developing meaningful partnerships with a wide range of local and national organisations to maximise musical opportunities for all children and young people.

Jenny is passionate about building resilient and sustainable music provision in all schools, developing youth voice and widening participation, supporting music teachers in the improvement of their own reflective practice and pedagogy, singing in schools, facilitating high quality regional and national performance opportunities and embedding equity, inclusion and accessibility.
