Gareth is a qualified teacher and Physics specialist and has worked in several schools in the North East and London, both as a successful teacher and leader of science.
He is a qualified Pupil Premium reviewer and has conducted several pupil premium reviews across the region, as well as pupil premium collaborative audits in North Tyneside. Since joining the Education North Tyneside team in 2016, Gareth has developed close relationships with middle and senior leaders, helping to support and challenge leadership, curriculum development and quality first teaching across all phases.
During this time Gareth has trained as a Radiation Protection Officer for CLEAPSS and has gained accreditation as a Lead Facilitator for STEM Learning. He also coordinates induction for Early Career Teachers for North Tyneside appropriate body and leads post-16 work for the Education North Tyneside service.
As a school improvement advisor, Gareth has a passion for research-based pedagogy and works closely with schools across the
North East, specialising in leadership, curriculum and pedagogy in science, as well as metacognition, pupil premium and post-16.
