The Benefits of Community Engagement
This week we had the pleasure of supporting a wonderful community event at Wallsend St Peters Primary School in North Tyneside. The event, featuring a variety of activities, food, stalls, music and games, was a tremendous success, leaving everyone with wonderful memories.
There are numerous advantages to fostering good family and community links here are just a few.
Improved Academic Achievement
Pupils can perform better academically when parents are involved in their education.
Parents and carers gain valuable insights into the educational process which in turn can support their children’s learning at home.
Enhanced Social Skills
Active family participation helps students develop better social skills.
Increased Self-Esteem and Confidence
Positive relationships between home and school can boost students' self-esteem and confidence.
Effective Communication
Enhanced collaboration between parents, carers and teachers helps address students' needs more efficiently.
Community Building
Parental involvement fosters a sense of community within the school, creating a more inclusive and supportive environment.
Summary of Benefits
Beyond academic performance, parental engagement leads to improved social skills, better behaviour, and stronger family relationships. It also benefits teachers, schools, and the broader community, making it essential for a successful educational system. A community event such as the one organised at Wallsend St. Peter's School would be great a way to begin fostering these relationships.
